Nine Lives

FYI.

The original start of the theory, "cats have nine lives" is the time witches were feared and hunted. It was said that a witch could transform herself into a cat but could only do it 9 times, hence the term "a cat has 9 lives".
Later this term transformed into people thinking that cats could survive injuries/illness 9 times before death.

The validity of the above statement is uncertain, (the wonders of the internet)
though in my experience, cats seem to have at least two lives for sure.
