While sitting on the bus today, a young gentleman sat on the seat in front of me.
He was probably about 23 and dressed in baggy colorful clothes that could be labeled as quite trendy. The moment he boarded the bus the air was permeated with the thickest, strongest stench of "Tag" body spray, or "Axe" body spray or whatever they call it now. I could hardly breath. it was almost unbearable, and I entertained the idea of changing seats, but the bus was quite full already. The thick fog infiltrated my thoughts and caked my nostrils with a potent sour film. I was dizzy and intoxicated by the gross overbearing smell. It was disgusting. I experienced a sense of relief and gratitude when my stop was in sight. I left the bus took a breath of fresh air and assumed I was done with the smell of... (today's youth?). Unfortunately I was wrong. The smell clung to my clothes and my skin and my hair and followed me for the remainder of the day. I even had people comment/inquire about my cologne? etc. My clothes, that now lay on the floor, still smell of this putrid fruity chemical...
Since when was the odor of humans so unacceptable that we have to invade others senses with chemicals so poorly emulating something pleasant. Noone spoke to this individual, nor did he speak to anyone else, but the impression that he enforced on everybody sharing the bus was overwhelming... was this his intent? is that the point? I don't get it.
