A Novel Idea

You know when you're reading a novel, and you happen to be reading in some public place (ie. the patio of your local watering hole, or on the bus or train) and you happen to come across the section of your current chapter where the author decides that this is a good time to enter in to a highly detailed, steamy love scene between the hero and his long lost love, or mistress or what-have-you, and you all of a sudden become very aware of what you are reading due to the presence of others in close proximity, and make efforts to read quickly only to find that this particular author finds importance in the small details that are all too often overlooked, which is why you really enjoy reading his stuff in the first place, but when it comes to the details which are included in this particularly long love scene you find your self wishing it was way shorter, but due to the details, it spans like 4 full pages, and you read on, shifting in your seat taking in the tableau, and you happen to look up occasionally, guiltily, and by chance make eye contact with the people sitting around you, and they give you a look that makes you believe briefly that they know what is happening in your mind's eye as you read through your book, and you quickly dart your eyes away, back on to the page wondering if maybe you should skip this part, or stop for now and pick up where you left of later with a small dog ear and a visual impression of where on the page you had read to?
